7 Fun and Free Outdoor Activities for Kids

Here in Phoenix, we enjoy beautiful weather year round. While this can be extremely beneficial for encouraging kids to play outdoors and soak up the sunshine, sometimes it can be difficult to come up with fun activities that will entertain and engage your kids without costing money. If you’re struggling to find a way to entertain your child during the warmer months, here are 7 fun and free outdoor activities for kids.

1. Splash Pads

Fun, free, and a great way to cool off. Check out some of the local Phoenix splash pads for a great way to have fun while it’s warm out.

2. Bike Rides

Bike rides are a great activity to get the whole family involved in. If you live near a local ice cream shop or treat shop, make a trip of it and get a sweet snack.

3. Scavenger Hunt

A neighborhood scavenger hunt can be an exciting, free activity for kids to do with their friends. Even better, it can take up a lot of time!

4. Lemonade Stand

Teach your kids the basics of business and serving others by setting up a lemonade stand out in the front yard. When the day is done, give them the option to save or spend their earnings.

5. Fishing

If you already have the equipment for it, fishing can be a wonderful activity for your kids to spend summer days doing.

6. Obstacle Courses

Get some physical activity in while testing your skills. An obstacle course in the backyard is a fun and free activity for your kids to do.

7. Outdoor Family Film Night

End these fun activities with a family film night. Set up some blankets outside, pull the TV or projector out, and have some popcorn while you enjoy each others company.

Try one of these fun activities with your kids or try them all. No matter which ones you and your little ones choose, they’ll be sure to have a blast! Make sure to take the appropriate precautions but if one of your tiny tots suffers a scrape or bump give us a call here at
